Alice in Wonderland
In Spring 2011 we themed all of our workshops around Alice in Wonderland. From writing new songs, to designing costumes and sets, the workshops helped to illustrate the key elements needed to create a successful production. With an original script, written by one of the members of Union Theatre, the show was completely tailored to the children within our workshops.
Alice in Wonderland follows the adventures of Alice, who finds herself in a rather strange new world, where she meets the evil Red Queen and the kindly White Queen. Along the way, she makes many friends, including the Mad Hatter and the March Hare, but also has to fight the enemy including the Red Queen's pet Jabberwocky.
Each week, half of the workshop was spent rehearsing for a workshop performance of Alice in Wonderland at the end of term. With excellent commitment from everyone involved, it was a brilliant production for the parents to come and see.
